Sam Johnson
Cinematographer/Drone Operator
This is Sam; Sam is the man when it comes to cinematography. We’ll put Sam's food porn (TV term) and aerial shots up against any person in the country... like an iron chef contest - only with cinematographers. Armed with his cameras/drones/ lenses and fueled by his love of Red Vines and eclectic music, when we turn him loose in the wild or on set, Sam creates footage that blows the mind.
Sam is like the Swiss army knife of our production team. Want to shoot in a food truck on a 100-degree day in Memphis for eight hours? No sweat. Sam is the first person in and the last man out. What about aerials of sunrise from the tallest peak in Colorado? Sam's camera bag is already packed and hiking boots are halfway laced up. If you are lucky enough to ride in our production van, you can bet Sam has already programmed a themed playlist for the day’s shoot.
When Sam is not making beautiful pictures for us, you can find him expanding his encyclopedic knowledge of obscure films while geeking out on all the latest camera gear and updates. If we have a question on how something was shot in another campaign or how they produced a series of shots, Sam will have likely already studied/ read up on it. Sam's work can be seen on Food Network, TRVL Channel, MSNBC and DISCOVERY.
Sam is a licensed FAA Drone Operator.
